I Live For Today, I Leave For Tomorrow
17 September 2025
Dear EB Friends,
After my Monday post, I received very sad news from a couple of my clients that their siblings suddenly passed away. My heart goes out to my friends. They were around my age. Truly too young.
This made me think deeper about the meaning of life and how my life was spared. The urgency of my work.
So I like to share this reflection piece with you - ”I live for today, I leave for tomorrow.”
⸻
I Live for Today
To live for today is to embrace the present moment fully. It means cherishing the air you breathe, the people around you, and the opportunities that unfold right now. Life is fragile and fleeting, and today is the only day truly in our hands. By living for today, you allow yourself to experience gratitude, joy, and meaning without waiting for the “perfect” time that may never arrive. It’s not reckless living, but intentional living — making today count with purpose, kindness, and courage.

I Leave for Tomorrow
To leave for tomorrow is an act of trust and surrender. It means acknowledging that tomorrow belongs to the unknown — to time, to God, to destiny. You prepare wisely, but you do not cling anxiously to what has not yet come. Leaving tomorrow in its place allows you to walk lighter, unburdened by fear or worry. It frees you to rest, knowing that the future will unfold in its own way, and when it arrives, you will meet it with the strength and wisdom you’ve built today.
⸻
In a nutshell
Together, these two lines are not opposites but complements. Living for today ensures your life is not wasted in waiting. Leaving tomorrow ensures you are not enslaved by fear of what’s ahead. It is both a call to action and a call to trust: act where you can, and release what you cannot control.
⸻
✨ In short: Live fully. Trust deeply. Today is your gift; tomorrow is God’s.
Matthew 6:34
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Make every day we are on earth count.
Agape,
Rosemary
